Getting A Girlfriend

Starting Small...

I read somewhere that the best way to go about getting a girlfriend if you are having problems is to start small and work your way up. According to this school of though, the strategy is to start your attempts at getting a girlfriend by trying it out with girl who is not so challenging (or beautiful) and work yourself up the challenging-cuteness ladder. So I decided to try out that approach, by starting with a girl I considered to be quite unchallenging and not too cute. True I did get some sort of relationship going on, and we shared a number of meals and a bit of time together with her. Then things started going wrong, and one day she tells me that she had a bad dream about me, and that she didn't think we should continue being together! This - dumping me - she did through a phone text message. I Wept. And that was the end of my attempts at getting a girlfriend by starting small and going up with time, because, surely,. if this type of girl could dump me, I just didn't know what I could do - and I just have never come to know even up to this day.

A Visit to A Girls' School

In understanding my struggles at getting a girlfriend, I think I will do well to explain to you that I studied in a boy's only high school. We had little contact with girls - it being brief periods in inter school meetings. So it came to pass that one day, I decided to book myself onto a trip to a girl's school - with the express aim of taking my attempts at getting a girlfriend to a higher level.
I shudder to remember the experiences of that day.
I don't really know whether it was the girls or me who had a problem, but what I remember was that things simply did not go right.
When the other boys were having fun with girls - dancing and all - I felt so out of place that I went to hide in the school bus till the meeting was over. I remember someone unkindly remarking just how odd my behavior was - but what was I to do? I couldn't bring myself to face a girl, even if my life depended on it.
Needless to say, that was my first and last attempt to go to a girl's school with the sole aim of getting a girlfriend, or any aim for that matter.

My first attempt at getting a girlfriend

Honestly,I think I have lost count of my attempts at getting a girlfriend.
There are some of these attempts at getting a girlfriend that are still fresh in my mind, and one of these includes my very first attempt at getting a girlfriend.
It was of course eleventh grade school course when I first made an attempt at getting a girlfriend.
I shudder to remember the reaction. The subject of my attention looked at me in a way as if asking herself what wrong she had done to be approached by a guy - a loser, she seemed to think - like me.
She just answered my questions politely and concisely, expressing no interest in me, such that at the end of it all, it felt as if I was interrogating her, rather than conversing with her. I was so pissed off that I put on hold my attempts at getting a girlfriend for a number of months - before the hormones started instigating me to start again.

Getting a Girlfriend

I remember it was about 8 years ago when we were in 10th grade high school, and when one of my high school friends remarked that guys like me would have a problem getting a girlfriend.
Sammy, for that was his name, was usually a mean guy and I recorned that even on that occasion he was just being mean.
At that time, I thought that getting a girlfriend was just a matter or course .
Well 8 years from Sammy's prediction, and I am still having problems getting a girlfriend.
I just can't figure out what is wrong with what - or whom.
Help!
